Born from lived experience. Built on connection.

Our story

Lollipop Foundation Inc. was established by Speech Pathologist and Founder, Lolli Rej, following more than 20 years of supporting children, adults and families within the community.

Throughout her career, Lolli witnessed first-hand the impact that communication difficulties, disability, social isolation and limited access to services can have on individuals and their families. She also recognised that many people fall through the gaps, particularly those who are unable to access funding supports such as the NDIS or Medicare.

Lolli's passion for inclusion is also shaped by her own lived experience. Coming from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background and having arrived in Australia as a refugee, she understands many of the challenges faced by new migrants and emerging communities, including barriers to accessing services, social isolation and the importance of feeling connected and supported.

Driven by a desire to give back to the community, Lolli established Lollipop Foundation Inc. as the dedicated not-for-profit arm of Lollipop Speech. The Foundation was created to provide free and low-cost programs, inclusive community spaces and meaningful opportunities for connection for people across the lifespan.

Today, Lollipop Foundation Inc. is committed to creating safe and welcoming environments where individuals and families feel supported, included and connected to their community. Through communication groups, wellbeing initiatives, sensory-friendly spaces and community partnerships, the Foundation aims to reduce social isolation and help people build meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging.

Our Purpose is to bring people together and create a sense of belonging.
